USC/OSU game
Mom had a nice spot all picked out for us with chairs out and Dad's trusty USC flag. Just in case our sweatshirts, hats and scarves weren't hint enough...

We had a wonderful tailgate party with just the four of us. We talked politics. Some football, but mostly politics. It's just that time of year, I guess...
Like I said, the Beaver fans are so much more friendly so we had lots of them talking to us, shaking dad's hand, welcoming us to Corvalis, and wishing us well. It was very different than the UO game we went to a few years back when the most creative thing people would say to us was FU SC. Ooooooh. Clever.
It's game time: we get into Reser Stadium and we part ways, as dad couldn't get all four seats sitting together. Somehow, Josh and I ended up with the best seats in the house; right behind our pep band and cheerleaders in the USC section. And we look over to find mom and dad...they are smack dab in the middle of the Beaver section. So at half time, there was still quite a bit of room right next to us, we called them over and they were HAPPY to leave their seats :)

(Where's Waldo? You can see Dad's SC hat in the VERY middle of this picture)
(Orange Out)
The game was so sad. We played TERRIBLE. I hated it. It was so bad. SC just looked tired and defeated from the moment they walked onto the field. Needless to say, we lost. Bad. I don't even want to post the score. You can find that out on your own, if you must.

(this is one of MANY pictures we have of my favorite cheerleaders...but I wasn't in charge of the camera...hmmmm)
But man were those Beavers PUMPED UP. It was so loud in that stadium. And the students, despite being told "DO NOT RUSH THE FIELD. YOU'RE ON NATIONAL TV. SET AN EXAMPLE. SHOW AMERICA WHAT KIND OF STUDENTS YOU ARE. DO NOT RUSH THE FIELD" with a win like this, there was NO holding them back. It was sort of creepy...the energy that was building up in those last two minutes of the game. Security was outlining the field as students were pouring over the side of the bleachers.

(I guess the last time Beavers rushed the field, they knocked over the goal post)
By the time the game ended and we were in the car on the road, it was almost 10:30 pm, and we were still facing a 3.5 hour drive home. Of course with a stop for coffee...duh.When we got to Rob and Margot's house, it was quiet. And our bed was made up complete with gum on our pillows. (they were out of mints) We would have stayed around the Knight's house for most of the day, but realized that I needed to be at church by 9:30 in the morning to run childcare for Women's Bibleshop.
The whole day was SO wonderful. Thanks Mom and Dad for such a great day. Even with our loss, we both still had such a FUN FUN FUN time.
